Just A Girl..........From the West Side

First of all, I have to give a huge XOXO to the wonderful Marie Denee for the feature on The Curvy Fashionista website. The movement of #30PlusStyle is growing everyday and there is so much more to come. It is an honor to be a part of such a great cause and collaboration. Check out our feature!

Second, Welcome new friends! I noticed I'm growing and please grow with me.  As I take my style journey I hope you're inspired by the fashion and style and please share your inspiration with me. Send an email.. Ask a question...Suggest a style challenge....Let me know.

Today's Style Inspiration is simply about where I come from,  I love seeing the beauty and history in the revitalization of Montgomery's West Side.  Yes folks, I'm a girl whose heart belongs to my west side.  Everyday I'm enjoying the new life being brought back into this historical area and I can't wait for the renovations to be done,  so I can take more pictures in this area.
Growing up in such a historical city makes you appreciate the places your going and how you are going to get there.

These are the doors to the  historical Mount Zion African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church.  Built in 1899 and the site of where the Montgomery Bus Boycott was organized in 1955.

Now on to the clothing! Here is a little something for Lady June.  As the days become longer and hotter, I find myself wanting to wear crop tops, full skirts preferably circle or maxi and the occasional bodycon, which is nice for a summer night.

Right now, pleated skirts are so hot for the season.  I love how the right pleat takes inches away from the body and when the material is light and flows away from the body. I think I now know what a "Gone With the Wind Fabulous" moment feels like, although I refrained from having this moment (at least this time). I found this Kelly Green beauty at the local flea market for $6 (yes, all this gorgeousness for $6). I absolutely love thrifting and about 60% of my wardrobe is from thrift stores from small and large cities in my territory spanning from AL, FL and GA. You never know what you will find, so shop with an open mind.

Such a fun outfit. Top: Asos (Similar)| Skirt: Thrifted (Similar) |Sunnies: Thrifted (Similar) | Shoes: Sam Edelman

This has to be my favorite outfit of the season.......So far

Yes, wardrobe adjustments do happen.

I have to admit this may be my official summer go to outfit.

So please don't judge me.
Thanks for stopping by!

xoxo

  2. Don't you just love a good bargain? $6 is such a score in my book! As a fellow blogger and thrifty shopper I live for bargains like this. As stated above, this color looks fabulous and I love the flow of the skirt and how it drapes your frame.
