Rival Style Challenge : Iron Bowl Edition

Friday, November 28, 2014
GOOD MORNING!!!!! If you're following me on instagram, you would know by now that I'm a loud mouth, college football fan.  The college I scream for is Auburn University of Auburn, Alabama.  Home of the Auburn Tigers and the call of "War Eagle".   And in today's post, I teamed up with my lovely rival, Jeniese of The Jenesaisquoi to bring you Game Day fashion for the IRON BOWL fan.

Quick history, Every year Auburn University hits the green against the University of Alabama. This match up is one of college football's biggest rivalries in history.  And today on Iron Bowl eve, fans prepare for the next 365 days of bragging rights.

I decided to got with a great pair of jeans from Ashley Stewart, Bright sweater from Old Navy, Boots from Baretraps, mine were sold out but here is a similar pair

Displaying your team spirit in your wardrobe is  fun. It may be one of my favorite ways to reflect pride in the school I love.
I like to play with scarfs, buttons and accessories to pull the looks together.

Jenesaisquoi's style is always classy.
Get the details of her look here.
I've known this lovely lady for a long time and no matter her team choice, I still love her!

Although the weather here has been wonderful, Game day activities can sometime last into the wee hours and temperature change.  Wear layers when attending a game.  I have a cute 3/4 sleeve tee under my sweater and the scarf opens up to knock off any additional chill.

So no matter your team,  it's always good to make  it fashionable.

 WAR DAMN EAGLE!!!!

xoxo

Black and Cream for the Holiday

Wednesday, November 26, 2014
Happy Wednesday Or Turkey Day Eve!!! I know everyone to getting ready for the holiday and planning your some holiday fun.  As for me, I'm so enjoying  this season and loving the weather here in Alabama. Finally wearing my endless supply of black tights; endless because I haven't located my colorful tight yet this year. The best part about my endless supply of black tights, they go with everything. I'm currently pairing them with my summer/fall pieces to transition and expand my wardrobe.

I love pairing cream and black together in the winter, it seems like the perfect color combination.
This skirt is from the Worthington mainstream collection at JCPennys.  I found the material to be very forgiving of my 56" hips and still maintain a comfortable length.  Most skirts from mainstream sizes (10-18) have a tendency to fit but ride up in the back and I really hate the low front/high back look on skirt when you have as much booty as I do. lol.  But this skirt passed the test, along with another skirt, I found at JCP, but I didn't get the other one.....I think I maybe regretting it now.

I paired the skirt with my favorite moto from Fashion to Figure, pumps, London Fog handbag and rose gold accessories.

This look is perfect for work and personal occasions.

Have a great Holiday!

SUMMER SKIRT/ WINTER STYLE: TRANSITIONAL WARDROBE

Monday, November 17, 2014
Good Morning!

The temperatures are starting to drop here in Alabama and I'm finally having a chance to get into some Winter Time Fashion. Yes to all of this!! Tights, boots, leather jackets and fuzzy sweaters... Here I Am!

To kick off the season, I decided to pull out this great wrap split midi skirt from Pink Clove. I originally purchased this skirt in late summer and once I got it, the split was a little to high for my taste with a bare leg, but I figured with some tights for the colder season....I may have a winner.

I paired the skirt with this sweet find at the local Dillards' outlet. A cobalt blue, leather waterfall blazer by Peter Nygard.  I know it's alot to take in.  This fabulous find was marked down 65% with an extra 50% off the markdown price. I paid $32.00!!!! for a jacket that was once $165.00.
 Talk about winning!

The mock neck crop from ASOS provided the break in color I needed and I finished the look with a yellow handbag and booties by Bandolino, which were also a steal from Stein Mart...$28.00.

Of course, I had to see what this look would look like my favorite black pumps.
I actually think the look changed from being funky to chic with just a shoe change.

I can definitely see this skirt in rotation this season with more colorful tights and knee high boots.....HMMMM

Mixing Prints and Textures!

Wednesday, November 12, 2014

Good Morning!!

Are you exploring mixed prints in your wardrobe yet? You should.  It's one of my favorite ways to play with fashion.  I'm constantly mixing patterns and prints to create new outfit options in my closet. For example, Today post includes FOUR patterns or textures: Leopard, Polka Dots, Tweed and Reptile.
Take a Look.

When Mixing Prints always keep one main color as your anchor or primary color.  This color will hold the look together.

Play with textures. Tweed has numerous shades throughout it, use those shades to mix in another pattern.

Make sure your shoes pull the look together. Adding another print to my feet would have been a fail move. I like to keep my shoes classic.

Outfit Details All item were already in my closet.
Start there first!

Sweater: Sears
Shirt: Belk's

30 Plus Style~50 Shades of Gray

Thursday, November 6, 2014
Good Morning Beauties and Beaus!

It's time again for another great fashion moment brought to you by the lovely ladies of 30Plus Style and Myself, of course.  So let’s talk 50 Shades of Gray……First, get your mind out of the gutter…well…Okay I will allow at least a 30 second homage to Mr. Gray; if you have read the book you can now smile from ear to ear.  Now, back to what we came here for:

When it comes to the color Gray or Grey,  I find it to be one of my favorite colors.  It’s another wonderful, neutral color that changes with the material of the clothing.  It's powerful with a structure suit or feminine with a chiffon dress, which is what I love the most about Grey or Gray.  And this month’s post happens to be about bringing the shades of Grey or Gray to life.

For my look, I decided to take the minimalist approach to this trend. A simple tank dress from Old Navy, now sold out. And my favorite boyfriend blazer from Ashley Stewart, that is about 4 years old. I honestly had no clue they would be so perfect together, I was thinking one was darker and my minimalist approach would roll into some other style type instead and then I would have to pull it together with some accessories and the "minimalist" look would disappear.
Good thing that didn't happen.

This was perfect, if I say so myself.
Now you have to ask yourself, what would make this better? LEOPARD OF COURSE!!!!
New Frames! New Hair Color! New Outlook! Look Out 2015!!
I had to add something to take it over the top and nothing does that better than “Leopard”.  At first,  my mind couldn't process the combination of leopard and gray, but once I changed my shoes and handbag it all pulled together in such a lovely lovely way.  Leopard is Truly a Neutral.

So, what do you think? I would love to hear from you.
