Finding the Perfect Bottoms with Christopher and Banks plus Giveaway

Wednesday, May 27, 2015
Hey Luvs!!!

If you’ve been following me for a while you know my “thick thighs” problems with pants and jeans. I’m always on the lookout for the perfect pair of bottoms for these thighs.  I have to admit that, yes this struggle is real in these streets when it comes to finding bottoms that fit and look good. I didn’t realize other women felt my pain until I begin blogging and expressing this issue. I found a whole new audience of women who I now referred to as #teamthicktighs .  They knew exactly what I was going through when looking for pants; gapping in the back, low rise waistline and little to no stretch are some of the main problems #teamthickthighs face out here.  So when the team of retailer Christopher and Banks reached out to me to discuss bottoms, I had to give these pants a test drive.  Christopher & Banks has been specializing in women's apparel since 1956 and offer a wide range of styles.  These are some quality pieces for a great price. I had the opportunity to pick three styles for my review, of course me being the type of person that I am .....variety was key.  I picked three completely different styles to test out for my review.  Ready!!!

For my first look, I had to get something for work.  The team suggested the Signature Slimming Double Weave Ankle.  These pants made me so happy!  They have the perfect amount of stretch and because the material is double weaved, it created a smooth slimming appearance.  Team Thickthighs appreciates this feature.  I got the navy and paired it with an old blazer from Belk's and top from Target.  To add a little fun, I added my leopard print wedge sandals from Sperry Top Sliders.  YES!!! Sperry is doing some cute sandals designs this season.  I got mine from 6pm.com ( now only in black)

I never thought I would like joggers pants, it was one of those things I was just didn't think would work for me. So of course the team was all about putting me in a pair of joggers and well.....I was pleasantly surprised by this cute pair of Zipper Detail Joggers (Now on Sale).  The material was new to me, it reminded me of a tough version of rayon...if that exist.  Very easy to wear and relax in. I kept the look easy breezy with a easy tee from Target (My tee store) and White Moto from JCP and some slip-ons also from Target to complete the look.

My last and maybe absolute favorite piece is the wonderful Everyday Denim Ankle Jean.  Team, when I say Yes to the Jean..........These are everything. The material is soft but firm to hold those thighs in with ease. the waistline is true and the length is perfect for a pair flats of heeled sandals.  I wanted to give this look a "Date Day" appeal.  This is something I would wear on a full date out in the streets of wherever. I paired the look with a lite cargo jacket from TJMaxx, Bright orange tank from City Chic Online and Strappy sandals from DSW.

I was really impressed with these items and would definitely give other styles a try.

And because I know you're out there looking for these bottoms, CJBanks is giving One Lucky Winner a Pair of Pants or Jeans from my picks!!!  Enter Below!!!
Good Luck!!!

Hey Luvs!!!!

I have been working my buns off for the past two weeks working hard and getting ready for summer.
There are so many things going on and so many things I have to share with you this week. Thank you again and again for the love and support in my attempt to be a cover girl for Redbooks' Real Women Real Style contest. I love and appreciate everyone!

Now let's start this week with a quick review of a up and coming designer that will be appearing in this year's Full Figured Fashion Week.  I beginning check out the style of Jeannetta Thomas also known as J.Thomas, owner and founder of I'Me designs a couple of months ago on facebook. It was also fun to see she was from my hometown of Montgomery, AL also. I first saw her design of this pattern on jumpsuit and well.....We all know how jumpsuits and I are not the best of friends, but when she offered to make this cutie in a skirt for me.....Wellll...Yes Please!

This skirt was so perfect for my Sunday goodtimes.  I love the bright colors of cobalt and yellow, which you know is my signature color.  I thought about being funky and mixing a print with the beauty and I decided I didn't want to take away from the piece, so I just knew my denim button down would be perfect. And for some added fun, my Sebastian Women's Pointy Wedge Pump in Citron hit the spot.  Other accents were a fun clutch and bright tribal pieces from Forever 21 and Cato.

Yeah these are they type of piece that put a smile on my face.

I purchased the in my waist size of 36"  I should have went up to 38" and request the length be to 40" because I lost 2" to the elastic band. Which was my only con: the elastic waistband was too constricting with this light fabric.  I found myself trying to untwist it several times during the wear.

When Florals and Stripes Meet featuring Eloquii Mixed Stripe Skirt

Tuesday, May 5, 2015
Hey Luvs!!!!

So I’m in bit of a mood to share a loving story with you about a plus size girl in love with tropical prints and stripes this season. If you don’t know, I’m a huge fan of mixing prints. It has to be one of my favorite ways to be playful and edgy in my looks.

Now my new love for this tropical print season has my eyes dancing with the colors and imagining tropical getaways. But this love for tropics can only be accompanied by this current obsession with the black and white /monochromatic trend also going on.

So I was thinking… why not mix the two and see what happens?

All I can say is….My Love just got Deeper!

This silk tropical print shirt from BB Dakota was a gift, that has been hanging in the closet since my birthday.   It was such an  accidental moment that created this look. I purchased this skirt from Eloquii with full intentions to wear it with a fun bright tank, but when I was arranging my closet the pieces fell together and the angels singed, "Ahhhhhhhhh"... Do you have this type of moment?

So let me tell you something about this skirt from Eloquii!! Chile.... Get it!! That is All!!  I was a little hesitate about getting into the scuba material life, but this skirt changed my entire mind.  I went down a size because most of the Eloquii items run large in the waist area for me. And since I wanted a  high waist look, I got just that.   Want the skit? Click the link below.

 Get the Skirt!!

This has to be one of my favorite mixed prints looks to date. I stayed with the base colors of black and white for my print mixing.  There're several rules to mixing prints but I only stick to one in particular which is, “Find your Base Color”. This is the primary color that dominates the pieces.  Once your base color has been established your wardrobe will become endless.

To add a little more edge to the look, I went with my new favorite...My White Moto from JCPenny. Now on Sale!! Click Here

And My Favorite piece from Sweet Home Bling. The Palm Royal Collection is a awesome!

Did you hear? I'm a finalist in the Redbook Magazine Real Style Real omen Contest!! Clink my link to vote for me to grace the cover! And please share! So many wonderful thing have been happening for me lately, I'm felling blessed beyond measure and I want to say thank you all for the love and support!
