30PlusStyle: The $30 Challenge

Thursday, May 29, 2014

Here is the challenge that suits my purse strings.  I had another outfit, but the rain took my session away from me.  So I had to go with my second pick, a great jean and blazer is essential for any season wardrobe.  This great white peplum jacket was a great find at the local Goodwill along with this soft pink tank.  The tops were easy but the bottoms---NOT SO MUCH!  I decided to search for a cute pair of light color denim and the first place I went was Ashley Stewart.  These light weight skinny jeans are great in the warm weather and they are soft ( I love soft denim), although I think I will deconstruct them for my next post and make them a little more edgy.  Overall the look is what I wanted, something that says Date Night Fun, Dinner with the Girls, Sushi and Plum Wine or Quick Bite Out.
Plain and Simple it says, TAKE ME OUT!

This post was done in exactly 30 mins!! I was getting ready to go see a new client to do a style evaluation, past the living room mirror and was like.......POST POST POST and here we are.  The outfit is comprised of my favorite red crop pants (BELKS), a blue and white print tee (OLD NAVY), yellow wedges (EBAY) and fun accessories.
I wish I could give you links to these pieces but they are all over a year old. I do hope you take the inspiration of this pic and make your own magic.  Don't forget to share!

Good Morning Dolls!

Today, I am thrilled to share an item from one of my favorite online merchants and fashion collaborator, ReVamped Styles.  This online boutique really is a one stop shop for any fashionista. The owner, Mrs. Consualla Carr Brown is always determined to make her customers feel and look "HAWT" **Her favorite words**

When I first received the dress I was thinking something fun for an afternoon event, beach or resort wear. It was not until I was talking to my mom about work wear and the subject of maxi dresses as career wear as being  inappropriate.  Now of course, as her personal opinion she out of all people knew not to challenge me with a fashion dilemma. Thus Project: Maximum your Work Wear with a Maxi was born!

Here is a little info on the dress, it wouldn't be a review without it.  This dress is a curvy girl's dream dress. The jersey material is soft, form fitting and luxurious next to the skin.  The chevron stripes point in a downward direction which leads to your curves and makes your girls look ample and fruitful, which is always a great feature on a dress.  It also as a bias cut and slim across the hips and thighs and gives the illusion of height.   I like felling taller, I don't know about you. Of course it can be dressed down for a weekend with a denim jacket or resort with a a large brim hat. For me,  I thought adding it to my work wardrobe was better, for now.

Excuse me, while I get my June Cleaver on | Vintage Friday Edition

Friday, May 16, 2014
You have to excuse me, while I get my June Cleaver life right now.  I absolutely LOVE this freakin dress. This vintage may I dare say "Seersucker Shirtdress" is everything and more. SeerSucker is just the sign of  Spring in the south until the rain and cold front takes us by surprise, but I don't doubt it here in Alabama. Back to the dress, this is the perfect June Cleaver dress. The style attributes of this early television icon was pure class with touches a menswear in the seer sucker stripe and hint of sex appeal in the design to show off the curves of the women ...(size 12) they say back then. Now this beauty was a thrift find at a Salvation Army in Santa Rosa, Florida.  A great place to thrift, can't wait to go back and find more goodies.

Barbara Billingsley died at the age of 96.  Did you know she was married 3 times?

I want every color

Yes Curly Sue is back

About Last Night

Monday, May 12, 2014

Ever have one piece of clothing that make you feel as they say, “Some Kinda Way”?  This dress does it for me. Recently worn to an retirement party, this ensemble has a bright future in a couple repeat scenarios.  Still on trend, this monochromatic graphic print dress is a TopSop replica purchased from Cato.  It has a great fit and will be in my Fall wardrobe as well.  To compliment the dress, I wanted everything else to pop with color. My bright collar necklace, cintrine wedges and red vintage clutch finished the look.  Next time I see this on a sushi date.

Tribal BodyCon Midi: Sassy

Honestly, My last look for this midi series was by far my favorite look.
I loved how well it went with my favorite tee from ASOS.COM.  Of course, it reflects my geek passion and stylish ways.  I think any fun graphic tee will go this mix of a graphic or solid color bodycon. It’s great way to spicy up the wardrobe and give your outfit a personal touch from your personality.

Have Fun With It!

30PlusStyle: Perfect in Pastels

Wednesday, May 7, 2014
Hello and Welcome again to another great collaboration with myself and the lovely ladies of 30 PlusStyles.  The love we have received thus far has been so wonderful and and encouraging, we have to continue to inspire women of all ages to live by self love.

Speaking of "Love", Do you not love today's theme? Perfect in Pastels.  Honestly, I rarely wear pastels, my mother dressed me in pink almost everyday of my life, so I thought maybe I was over it. Like right now she is holding on to a little pink flannel kilt like skirt I use to wear when I was little in her bedroom drawer (can't get a foot in that things now), but it's sweet and I love her.

For the record, this ensemble is possibly one of my new favorites. I'm in love with this demure look.

This look is pieces together with a great vintage find from my local thrift store.  I screamed when I saw this pleated midi in this vibrant color.  I had to bring it home, but I had no clue what I was going to pair it with.  So the day of my shoot, I literally ransacked every closet in the house and then I found this in my mother's suit stash...... Can you say? Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!! I finished the look with what I like to call my Dorothy slippers and felt like a lady ready to brunch.

Any Takers?

Talk about feeling like a lady.

Tribal Midi: Part 2- Sexy!!

Tuesday, May 6, 2014
For part two of my tribal midi styling, I try to be a little sexy.

Honestly, I rarely have the opportunity to explore this style of dressing. Maybe on a date night in my near future or girl's night out could I imagine this ensemble.  The bodycon is truly made to show the curves and give every girl that extra sex appeal.  That has to be my favorite part about the bodycon.  Of course with proper foundation a bodycon is VAVA VOOM.

Here are three of my sexy favorites from Forever 21+ Plus Size
