I can't lie and say I follow every fashion rule in the book.  I often go off the page, take the concepts and then make them mine.  For instance,  the greatest fall look in the world is the feminine column or body con dress with a structure jacket and pumps.  Great classic concept and then there is my version.......Brighten up with a Colorblock bodycon dress,  Bold wool trench and funky bangles.  Now we are talking.

Classic Style: The Trench

Wednesday, November 13, 2013
One article of clothing no man, woman or child should go without is the Classic Trench.  This piece outerwear can turn any emblem into fashion but, this can be hard for a girl with a little more dare I say, "junk in the truck".   This is why I choose this trench from the maternity section of Old Navy ( DID YOU SAY MATERNITY?) YES!! This jacket is everything a girl with hips like mine could ask for.  It fits right under the breast for nice empire waistline and then flares out to shove of my curves.  Mixed with a basic black skirt from ASOS and Classic White shirt from Talbots and your PERFECT WORKWEAR.

Working on my side eye stare...almost there.

A little something from JCP

Sold out but you can check for the stores in your area.

Now time to get back in the swing of things on this blog adventure.

Check out the great pieces found by the lovely Chasity Valentine aka GarnerStyle.  Be Well!

Let's Start with Mixed Prints

Monday, September 2, 2013

Ahhh Summer, I bid you farewell with mixed prints and metallic pumps.

The top is straight from my mom's closet, a cute peplum from  a.n.a  JCP. The fabric is light and easy, great for the transition of the season.  The skirt is ASOS ( SOLD OUT) and the shoes are DSW.   I really can't wait to take this skirt into fall with some rich colors and boots and maybe a long sleeve crop top ( I live in FL, it can happen)

Happy Labor Day!!

Dots and Stripes on Friday!

Friday, August 16, 2013
Please understand that I live for a great pattern and the polka dots just seems to be the perfect prints ( well in my mind).  Today's OOTD featured my favorite red ankle pants.  I love them and I found a link for you for a pair at Nordstroms for $38 bucks.  A really good price when you take in consideration how many times I have worn mine.  The tops was a find at the local It's Fashion Metro, I have been impressed with the selection lately.  Good jobs.  The seersucker blue jacket has been in my wardrobe since 2006.  It was a great buy WALMART!! It the George brand with a cool pattern on the inside this just made my day putting it together.   Hope you enjoy your weekend!

Black, White and Orange.....Art......Nothing like Halloween

Tuesday, August 13, 2013
As I approach the seasons change, I am still on color and fabric.  A great color can boost your confidence, make your stride wider and perk up your day.  A great fabric can keep you cool, flatter all the right places on your body and pack with ease if you travel a lot like I do.  This is what makes the art of dressing for work so much more then just putting clothes on everyday.

Of course it is all about COLOR!!!  Great Orange blazer for the summer/ fall; stripe shirt and basic black skirt.

Have a Great Week!!

Pop of Color Anyone?

So by now you have come to know my staples are bright color work pieces that are cool for the Florida weather and show off my love for color.  I am playing catch up this week with some outfits from the past days.

Thank God For Color!  Friday OOTD
Colorful......Yes I am aware.

This Midi pencil skirt Asos Curve. It has been a wardrobe life saver.

Many Thanks to my aunt for this yellow blazer.  I love it in so many ways.
Floral and Bright Bottoms for Monday....

Monday was all about being cheerful as the rain comes down.  This entire outfit is on clearance for  $30.  The blazer if from Belk's and only $10 shop here, a great blazer that is going into the fall.  Crop pants are my favorite.  I am comfortable and the ankle length is a great cut for my curvy proportions.  The pants are from JCP shop here, I love this Scuba Blue color and for $20.  See $30 and endless dressing possibilities for both pieces.  That  is what make a work wardrobe in my opinion.

Remember to have fun with your work wardrobe.  Show you personality in your Style......

Catching up to Summer

Friday, July 19, 2013
Hey guys! I have been super crazy with work and going home to see family and friends. Kind of caused me to fall behind on my posts, but I am back in the stride again **favorite Maze featuring Frankie Beverly song. Yes some things have changed--the hair is transitioning nicely  and this nature updo is perfect in this heat.   Now on to what you came here for, the growing black and white trend is by far one of my favorites.  This look was inspired by all the black and white trends and of course splashes of color had to be added.

This blazer is by far the best thing my aunt has ever given me!! Thank you Auntie Jean!!

Really loving this bun!

Black and White Mixed Prints!

Thursday, June 27, 2013
One of my all time favorite trends is Mixing Prints.  I love the thought of mixing two completely different prints and making them work.  My casual approach to this would be GO BIG OR GO HOME!! My work wear approach is more so Go Sensible or Don't Go.  I mixed these very cute polka dot pants from It's Fashion, now my new favorite trendy store and this Worthington peplum from JCP, my all time favorite store.  The entire outfit was $30 bucks.  Now the shoes were on sale at DSW and they are to live in!!!!! Yes, I finally found a pair of silver pumps that I can wear.  These are made by Tahari at DSW,  Great shoes and low heel, which is perfect for my busy days.  Everything else was just mixing up the bangles and out the door!

Always in a Graphic!

Tuesday, June 25, 2013
A great graphic dress for under $20 bucks!  Jackpot!  This graphic knee length dress is made by Calvin Klein and a work wear essential.  I have already pieced it with black tights, knee boots and blazer for Fall ( I can't help it, always fashion forward).  The material is washable and has really great stretch  and comfort.  I drove for 6 hours today, in and out my vehicle  and the dress maintained its shape and wasn't uncomfortable.  I paired it with this cute bag that I found in a little town called Elba, Alabama.  I love the places my career takes me.  The shoes are Alex Marie from Dillards......Comfortable and Cute.  And I am back to the easy brezzy curly sue style :)  Another great work wear outfit and suitable for any weather.

Fun with Polka Dots!

Thursday, June 20, 2013
Recently, I have been on a passion for polka dots type of thing.   This sheer polka dot dress was a under $20 from ROSS.  Of course everything I wear has to be perfect for Florida weather.  The fact that we have high winds this week can be a little exciting though, having some Marilyn moments.  This yellow blazer, blue wedges and blue bubble necklace completes this great work wear outfit.

Tribal Blues

Wednesday, June 5, 2013
It's officially a hot tail summer!  Time to break out the summer friendly material.  This skirt is great for the warm breezy work days in the humid FL weather.  This tribal print skirt was a clearance find at Dillard.  I got in February so I am not sure what season it was made for but it is perfect for now.  I paired it with a cobalt blue tee and my new favorite peep toe wedges.

Lightweight blazers and light bright color shirts perfect for business.  This cobalt blazer is the perfect ponte material and the perfect color for the season.  I paired it with a beautiful light pleated peplum, black crop pants and the latest wedge to my collection.....COBALT BLUE SUEDE...Have you ever tell you that, This is Love!
