Casual Friday

Sunday, September 30, 2012
Casual Friday for me is still a day of professional entire, being in Florida allows a little more of a easy atmosphere when going to see clients.  I love this outfit.  I am super proud of how comfortable I have become in my skin to wear a nice pair of leggings. The material of these ponte blend is thick and with just the right amount of Lycra to hold me in tight.  I went for gold accessories for this outfit because I wanted some pop next to the teal shirt and stripe jacket, which is so light weight and perfect for the chilly mornings.  I pulled out my Coach bag circa 2007 and that completed the look.

I love this picture and was so upset it was blurry.....UGH!!

I wanted my makeup to be light.

What a Lovely Moo Moo

Thursday, September 27, 2012
I am simply in love with how  The Art of Thriftiness has become the new thing.  At first I was upset because all the plus size inventory at the good places  was slimming down but to be honest it's a great way to rebuild a community so "THRIFT AND BE MERRY".   I have been shopping this way for about 10 years at flea markets, estate sales, yard sales and every nook and cranny out there.  My job really puts me in the position to find some "honey holes". Here is one of my great finds.

This beautiful crinkle tropical green patio lounger a.k.a grandma's moomoo is wonderfully light.  The sleeves are the perfect flutter to hide imperfections, the length is right at the knee :) and with a cinch of my trusty brown belt.....VOILA!!! This ole girl ain't what she use to be!  Great for a breezy Florida day.

Double Duty Wardrobe

Saturday, September 22, 2012

Like most working women we are always in search of finding just the right day and night combo outfit.  I sometimes find myself being invited to after hours functions on the city side when I resided on the beach side.  A great ensembles that can pull “double duty” is the way to go for me.  That is what I love about this dress it has all the great dress elements; color, fit and very flirty.  It works well for work and I can dress it up for night.  The fabric is awesome for FL humidity and heat. A nice cool blazer dresses it up for work;  while a wrap belt, patent bag and  faithful Bandolino dress wedges make me ready for drinks in the city.

I can't thank my wonderful photographer Natalie of Through My Eyes photography.  YOU ARE AWWWESOME in my Barney voice of course.

My First OOTD

Tuesday, September 18, 2012
I got my first email the other day asking me when will I be posting my style and what was my style.  Well here it is. ..

Today was bidding day for some of my customers, so I was going to spent most of my day downtown in a government building checking out budgets and vendor bids.  If you don't know, I am always searching for a few perfect things:  the perfect contract, the perfect pencil skirt, the perfect kitten heel and the perfect love. I'm batting 50/50 right now and yes about that numbers life. I needed something light, the heat here in FL has no remorse.  I love to layer my outfits with pieces that are light in texture and colorful. Since I will be in the building most of the day the cardi/blazer keeps the chill off. This chiffon tank is very breezy and it features my signature color of yellow.  Overall this just makes me feel pretty.

At 6am the focus was a blurry, I am a work in progress.

Can't believe I have a pic were I am not smiling but is was 6 am in the morning.--Early bird gets the warm worm.

FALL in My Closet Haul 2012

Monday, September 17, 2012

I have to say,  I am on a style journey to look like the pages of Instyle, Essence or Style Watch magazines.  A young woman working on her next great career move and not trying to spend my savings on a handbag, unless it 60% off.  I admit I love a great sale, find, thrift and bargain.  I love it even more when I find all this under $50 or free!  Yes,  I said it “free!"  Did you know thousands of dollars of great fashion is right in your closet, somewhere in the deep dark corners, tucked away in a box and hiding out at your parent’s house?  Trends are always revolving, what was once "old" is now "on trend".

Confession time- I think of myself as a “baby fashion hoarder” just don’t tell anybody.   But really when was the last time you really when through your closet?  If you have been working on you body like me then you should have a box I like to call "Never Gonna Give it Up".  Here is the challenge and believe me it is easy and cash savings: take your favorite fall fashion magazine- This weekend I picked Style Watch Fall Preview and I went through the pages of what's on trend.  I went to the dark unknown places in my closet and came out sweating with some good stuff.

Now go to those hiding places in your closets and look through those pieces, find anything interesting????  I am sure you did.

Here is just  some of things I found and I haven’t hit the mall yet!

I think I found about 30 very good pieces in the my current closet that will help take me into fall without hurting my purse strings,  "Luxe for Less" :).  The finds included a gold and silver blazer, jade tops, prints skirts and some cat's meow-animal print of course.

Let me know how your FALL in my Closet Haul went.  I would love to see what you found.

I Really Enjoy Being A Girl

Saturday, September 15, 2012

The clip is from the musical, "Flower Drum Song"
This song has stayed with me.

When I was a little girl, my mother would always let me watch musicals and old movies.  I fell in love with the curvy silver screened beauties as they showed off their curves and enjoying being a girl.  Really, who wouldn't enjoy being a girl? There are so many wonderful things about us. Now, I have never been a S, M or L size girl, always a curvy, plus size, XXL type of girl searching for her style id.  This journey was paved by many style muses over the years.  From Miss Piggy to pop culture's Kardashians ladies,  these style muses have helped me and millions of other plus size beauties find our personal style id and show if off to the world.  There are so many wonderful, curvy bloggers out there paving the way and they encourage each other everyday to be beautiful, trend setting divas.   Like them, my journey is about the voice of style for a plus size girl, saving money, fashion tricks and tips to look and feel your very beautiful self.  Thanks for hearing my voice and always enjoy being a curvy girl.
