30PlusStyle: The $30 Challenge~Mad for Plaid

Morning Beauties and Beaus! Fall is truly here.  The air has become cool and crisp, the leaves are changing colors and fall fashion is in full swing! Last time, we gave you a peek into the Pantone 2014 Fall colors, this time we are challenging you to go
MAD FOR PLAID!!!! FOR $30 BUCKS!!!!
I know right? How do you tackle a popular trend for $30?
I think we can show you a couple ways to be inspired.

My plaid look is a sweet memory from my childhood. I was five or six when my mother purchased a pink plaid kilt, it had the big safety pin on the side, fringe hem and everything. I loved that skirt, it was definitely the first sign of fall for me.  I remember wearing it with a chunky cream sweater coat, pink tights and shiny, black penny loafers ( High fashion since 1975 folks); Did I mention it was perfect? Anyway by the time I was seven, I retired the skirt, but the happy memories of this item remained in my heart and mind.

And from the inspiration of my beloved Pink Plaid Kilt is my
30PlusStyle: The $30 Challenge~Mad for Plaid look.

This Soft Pink Plaid midi was a thrifted find from the local Mission....wait for it.....only $2.99!!!!

I wanted to keep the look very clean and soft by adding a crisp white button down, quilted handbag and nude pumps with rose gold accessories.

The foliage here in the south is still green and lush, I can't wait to come back to this location when the leaves have changed colors and Mama Nat ( Mother Nature) has made her apprearance.

Outfit Tally Up
Shirt: Dillards Outlet- $13.99
Skirt: Faith Rescue Mission-$2.99
Belt: Target-$7.99
WAY BELOW $30!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And do you remember the skirt?  You can blame my mommy.

Far from the catholic school girl's uniform, occasional flannel pajamas or adult store costume, Plaid is back on the scene.  This fall it's one of the most trending patterns of the season. Of course like all trending and style, this is not plaid first time at the rodeo folks.  Plaid happens to one one of those patterns that we all have experience at least 3 times in our lives ( I will let you ponder on this one).
